Upgrading the Cheap Fencing

Difficulty Rating:

While the Cheap Fencing from last year did it's job, and looked the part, I was not pleased with it. After a night or two of rain and wind, I kept having to pick them back up, and re-inforce them, and that didn't have that old and creepy look and feel to them. So this year it was time for a change.

So this year I decided to make a new creepy (and VERY cheap!) fence made from the best material possible for that "old fence" look... OLD FENCING!

fence.

Materials Needed

  • Old fence

Construction is simple.

Instructions

  • Bring old fence sections home
  • break them up into single pieces
  • remove rusty nails
  • drop two on the floor horizontally
  • drop three on top of those vertically
  • screw them together.

I know, sounds impossible, right? But if I can do it, I know you can.

fence.

I only did 3 per 4' section, so cars passing by, and little ToT's have a nice view of everything, while keeping the little buggers away from things that will kill them, and making it a wee bit harder for vandals to steal anything from the front yard. My main complaint about most fencing I've seen, is that they are all built WAY to close together, so you need to get right up to the fence to see anything. Sure it looks good, but it's hard to see anything from the perspective of someone who is 3' - 4' tall, who cannot see over the fence like all of us wicked cool (yes, we are from RI) adults can. And I personally thing that is dumb. Just my opinion.
